The quality of provider communication skills affects the quality of patient care. This program focuses on improving communication with patients and among care teams. Methods shared can lead to better patient understanding, engagement and clinical outcomes. They can improve clinical information gathering and increase the effectiveness of communication between providers at critical times in care delivery. We’ll explore how to break down communication barriers that can lead to patient injuries.
Robert Thompson, RT, JD, MBA, LLM, AIC, ARM, ARe, RPLU, CPCU, serves as the director of education at constellanion.
Robert has a diversified background in law, medicine, medical professional liability insurance and health care risk management. With 10 years of practice at several Georgia hospitals, Robert is an accomplished radiology technologist. He holds the designations of Associate in Claims, Associate in Risk Management, Associate in Reinsurance, and Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter. In addition, he holds the Registered Professional Liability Underwriter designation from the Professional Liability Underwriting Society.
